HOORAY! The NINTH year of the Positively Present Gratitude Challenge is about to begin on November 1! Though I keep a daily gratitude journal, there’s always something special about celebrating gratitude during the month of November each year. Having a specific topic to focus on each day really makes me pay even more attention to the things I’m thankful for, and I hope these annual prompts help you too! Week 13 – October 28th – November 2nd Red Ribbon Spirit Week!

WE ARE CELEBRATING RED RIBBON WEEK

Pautas de disfraces de Halloween:

Sin máscaras ni accesorios.
Se permite el maquillaje, pero DEBE ESTAR APROBADO PREVIAMENTE. Utilice el código QR para entrar.
NO se permite maquillaje sangriento (cortes, sangre, etc.).
No se permitirá vestimenta que abrace el cuerpo.
Sin pijama (se permiten disfraces de mono), pantuflas, tirantes finos, media deriva mostrando, faldas cortas / pantalones cortos (deben tocar la punta de los dedos cuando los brazos se extienden hacia abajo lado).
NO se permiten disfraces de payaso o disfraces de Joker.
NO se permiten materiales ofensivos, violentos u obscenos (como pistolas o cuchillos). Los estudiantes correrán el riesgo de ser enviados a casa para cambiarse si los disfraces son inapropiados.

Si tiene alguna pregunta sobre su disfraz de Halloween, hable con la Sra. Parreñas o un administrador para aclaraciones.

We are looking for any of the following materials to be used in the challenge:

old costumes
toilet paper rolls
magazines
clean chip bags/pringles cans (clean)
old shoes (clean)
old clothes (clean)
old sheets (clean)
cups (paper/plastic/styrofoam)
tissue paper
empty cereal boxes
pipe cleaners
ribbon
string
yarn
clean trash bags/plastic bags
duct tape
party supplies
balloons
plastic bottles

Any other materials you can think of for designing a movie costume. Bring materials to your 3rd period class!

OCTOBER IS ANTI-BULLYING MONTH National Bullying Prevention Month is a campaign in the United States founded in 2006 by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. The campaign is held during the month of October and unites communities nationwide to educate and raise awareness of bullying prevention.	WE ARE GETTING SSA TRAINING FOR OUR SCHOOL! The Safe School Ambassadors® Program (SSA) is an evidence-based program that harnesses the power of students to prevent and stop bullying and mistreatment. It is considered a social-emotional learning program (SEL). The SSA Program is a student-centered model that educates diverse social leaders with the skills to prevent and reduce bullying. It is the nation’s most effective student-led bullying prevention program.	UNITY DAY: OCTOBER 23RD Unity Day is Wednesday, October 23. This day is all about standing up for inclusion and against bullying. Please wear orange!


INTERNET SAFETY PRESENTATIONS We will be having internet safety presentations for our students on October 16th and 17th. This is an opportunity for our students to learn about online safety or cyber safety.	WEAR IT PINK DAY! Friday, October 18 is Wear it Pink Day in honor of breast cancer awareness. Wear pink!	RED RIBBON WEEK Red Ribbon Week will take place from October 28th – November 1st. The 2019 Red Ribbon Theme will be, “Send a message. Stay Drug Free.”
