1. What is Accelerated Reader (AR)
AR is an enrichment reading software program that is designed to improve a student’s reading skills. The AR program manages data for AR library books, computer reading tests for those books, and students’ independent reading records.
2. Where and when can my child take as AR test?
Library: before school, during lunch or nutrition break, after school, or during class period if the teacher sends the student with a pass.
3. How can I find out if SOM has an AR test for a book that my child wants to read?
Go to www.arbookfind.com/default.aspx type in the title of the book and click “GO” and it will let you know if the book has an AR Test.
4. How can I check on the reading level for a book that was not checked out from the SOM’s library?
Go to www.arbookfind.com/default.aspx type in the title of the book and click “GO”.
